An afternoon energy dip is common, but it rarely has a single explanation. Instead of treating it as a personal failure, treat it as useful information about the rhythm of the day.
The aim is not perfect energy. It is enough steadiness to make good choices feel possible.

Three things to observe
- What did lunch actually look like?
- How much water have you had?
- Was last night restorative enough?
Then test one change
For a few days, try a proper lunch with protein, fibre and colour; take a short outdoor break; or prepare an afternoon snack before hunger is urgent.
Keep the experiment small so you can tell what helped.
Ongoing fatigue deserves a proper conversation, particularly if it is new, disruptive or accompanied by other symptoms. A practitioner can help you consider the wider picture and, where appropriate, discuss blood tests with your GP.
- energy
- daily rhythm
